The All American Reining Horse Classic is moving up! In 2007 the big money event will be held up state at the more accommodating and larger Reno Livestock Events center. This supremely equipped facility is home to some of the performance horse industry’s biggest events, including the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity. “The Reno Center really wanted our show and we are thrilled to be moving to such a wonderful facility,” said show producer Michelle Ward. “The facility is large, with plenty of room to ride at all times. There is a large indoor practice arena, a covered arena and several other arenas to ride in.” Similar to last year, the AARC will boast a $60,000 Open Derby, $20,000 Intermediate Open Derby, and a $5,000 Limited Open Derby. The Non Pro events are also promise big payouts, with a $40,000 Non Pro Derby, $15,000 Intermediate Non Pro Derby and an $8,000 Limited Non Pro Futurity. New on the schedule for 2007 are $2,000 Gelding Incentives. The AARC also offers Ancillary classes with impressive added money. For 2007, the show will offer a $6,000 Open, $4,000 Intermediate Open, $5,000 Non Pro, $3,000 Intermediate Non Pro, and $2,000 Novice Horse classes. Other highlights include a USEF Youth Reining Championship qualifier and an Invitational Freestyle competition. Exhibitors are sure to have a good time in Reno as well, with the luxurious Silver Legacy secured as the host hotel. With room rates of $69.00, free shuttle service to the show and free valet parking for all AARC attendees, Michelle says the hotel is ideal for competitors. “The Silver Legacy casino is 5 times nicer than the South Coast. There are three hotels that are joined together and over 22 restaurants, comedy clubs, and many other amenities, ” she explained. “Also, Brooks and Dunn will be playing on the 15 th of March. We are giving away two box seat tickets to see Brooks and Dunn and a three-night hotel stay. Any class entry form that is received by Jan 15 th will be automatically entered to win this prize.” Last year’s AARC was big, and 2007 promises even more growth. Well-known show manager Todd Knerr, who oversees the NRHA Futurity and Derby, has been hired to keep things running smoothly. “We are looking forward to a very successful show this year and are ready for the numbers,” said Ward. She noted that moving to the Reno Events Center allowed the show to provide better show conditions not only for competitors, but for sponsors and vendors as well. “The concourse at Reno is outstanding. It has a bar and lounge that overlooks the arena that is actually about 3 times larger the South Coast,” she said. “The concourse has plenty of room for vendors, and we are dedicated an entire side of the concourse to our Ranch Sponsors. Ranch sponsors will have box seats and a private VIP lounge with a bar and a large screen TV.” As an added bonus, Ranch sponsors will have private carpeted 10 x 10 tents setup on the concourse with electricity throughout the duration of the event. To further accommodate contestants, limited eligible riders are allowed to enter only the Limited Non Pro or Limited Open divisions for a combined entry and judge’s fee of $600. All other divisions will be a package deal. Make plans now to attend the All American Reining Horse Classic, which will be held March 20-24, 2007.
