Trainer Shane Kelley has long been a winning force in the Reining Horse industry. Growing up around horses, he began training horses at an early age on his family's ranch in southern Texas.

Since turning pro, Shane has built a winning record in NRHA competition. In 2002, Kelley made the Limited and Intermediate Open NRBC finals.

That year, riding a horse named Little Rooster, Shane won the first go of the Limited Open Classic and then finished as the NRBC Limited Open Classic Reserve Champion. That same year, he also made the Limited and Intermediate Open Finals at the All American Quarter Horse Congress Futurity on RS La Rooso.

The following year, Kelley piloted Whiz Poco Bandit to the Championship at the Denver USEF Futures Reining Qualifier in Denver.

As 2003 continued, Shane continued to win NRHA class championships around the Colorado region during a five-year stint as head trainer for 6K Ranch in Elbert, Colorado. During that time, he also coached several non pro and youth riders to top honors at both regional and national events.

A month later at the 2005 NRHA Derby, Kelley rode Holymasterwhiz to a finals slot in the Limited Open Derby, placing 4th. He also rode RS La Rooso to win the Intermediate Open Class Championship.

In 2007, Shane moved his training operation back to his home state of Texas, where he owns and operates Shane Kelley Reining Horses with his wife Farrah and their twin boys.

Located in the heart of horse country in Gainesville, Texas, Shane is running a full scale reining operation. He is training both Open and Non Pro horses, and welcomes you to give him a call to discuss your reining goals. Come ride, learn and have a good time!
